How do I know the essays are real?

We verify each seller through their school email, manually review every listing, and check proof of admission before an essay can go live.

What do I get when I buy a listing?

Right after checkout, you get a secure link to read every essay included in that listing. Some listings contain one essay and others contain a full set, so you will always see what is included before you pay.

Can I use an essay in my own application?

No. Admitfolio essays are for inspiration and learning only. Use them to understand voice, structure, and approach, but never copy, paraphrase, or submit someone else's work as your own.

Who can sell essays on Admitfolio?

Current or recent college students who are at least 18 can apply to sell. Sellers verify a supported school email, provide proof of admission, and must upload only their own original work.

Can sellers stay anonymous?

Yes. Sellers choose whether to stay anonymous, reveal their first name only to buyers, or show their full name publicly. That choice is made separately for each listing.

What if a listing is not what it claimed to be?

Tell us within 7 days if an essay materially differs from its listing, such as being for a different school or prompt. We will investigate, and confirmed misrepresented listings are refunded.

Who built Admitfolio?

Admitfolio was built by Fatimah Hussain, the student creator behind Fatimah's Guide, where she shares college and career resources with 300K followers across social media. As a first-generation immigrant, she had to navigate the entire college journey by herself. She built Admitfolio in hopes that it can help other students feel less lost and more supported.
